Announcing uCode@UWG
The University of West Georgia is launching an informal coding
club to help kids and young adults, ages 7-17, grow their computer programming
skills.
Aug 9 Session
The first session will be held Saturday, August 9, from 1 – 4 p.m.
in the UWG Education Center 2 and 3 (parking in Tyus lot; see attached parking
info). On August 9, two programs will be
introduced: Scratch for building
games and stories; and HTML for
creating websites.
Visit our website at http://www.westga.edu/ucode/
to learn about the program. Join our
Meetup Group (http://www.meetup.com/uCodeUWG/)
to receive email alerts when new events are announced. As we gather mentors and
learn what expertise they possess, we will be able to determine the topics of
later sessions.
Details
--uCode@UWG events are free to the public.
--Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (no
drop-offs), and parents are encouraged to participate in uCode@UWG activities.
--Kids should bring a laptop if they have one. uCode@UWG also has laptops for use during the

Want to get involved?
The program needs Mentors and Volunteers. Mentors are people who have expertise related
to computer programming. Volunteers can
help with anything else. If you are interested
in becoming a Mentor or Volunteer, visit our website at http://www.westga.edu/ucode/, and look
for the Join Us box in the right-hand navigation area to a mentor or volunteer
survey.
